INFORMATION SESSION on Tuesday, May 5 from 5:30-7:30pm at Faith Community Church, New Richmond
Sarah brings over 20 years of experience as a multilingual business professional, life coach, entrepreneur and educator to every student’s unique learning journey. Her teaching experience is as diverse as the students she has served. She has homeschooled gifted elementary learners and those with learning differences, worked in higher education, and coached a variety of clients through life transitions. Her expertise extends into the international corporate setting, where she has technically trained global teams on complex internal systems and taught English to professionals in Brazil. Drawing from this experience, Sarah specializes in tailoring instruction to a variety of learners—helping every child discover their identity in Christ and become the unique individual God created them to be. Her heart is to guide students to not only grow in their academic mastery but to truly know and trust Christ in every area of their lives. Her educational background includes a degree in Business Management, extensive post-graduate work in International Business and a life coach certification, providing her with a unique perspective that she now brings to the classroom. She loves spending time with family and friends, studying the Bible and being involved in her church, as well as hiking and traveling. She enjoys learning languages and speaks Portuguese, Spanish and a little French!
Meet Melissa Evans, our Learning Coach! A veteran homeschool mom of 12+ years and a devoted biblical counselor-in-training through ACBC. Deeply rooted in her local church, she spends her time outside the classroom writing and mentoring and counseling women of all ages. She desires to help students bridge the gap between academic excellence and spiritual growth in the Learning Lounge.
Bethany has spent over 25 years teaching special education for K-12 and high school transitions (18-21). Her focus has been on reading (fluency/comprehension), mathematics (expression), written language (expression), and social/emotional learning (ASD), focusing also on executive function and organizational skills. She is certified in remediation and interventions (Sonday, Orton-Gillinham, LETRS/Lexia) and has years of experience in serving students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. In serving students, it has always been her goal to ensure that all students feel successful and gain confidence daily within their learning. This also includes obtaining a sense of belonging, accomplishment, and accountability for their own learning plan. Her faith in our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, has continued to be of the utmost importance to her. Without it, she would not be where she is today in her career or personal life. Through her faith-based practices of Bible study groups, continued education, and involvement in her church, she continues to seek the Lord's guidance within her work and daily life. Bethany has a passion for coaching youth volleyball. She has her MBA and BS in Education.
